[IT Biz News reporter Choi Tae-woo] ARM will expand its ARM Approved Design Partner program and promote cooperation with domestic semiconductor design companies.

According to ARM on the 30th, three domestic design houses (KoAsia, GAONCHIPS, and Hanatec) were selected as new members in addition to the existing members of ADTechnology and ASICLAND, and expanded access to Intellectual Property (IPs) and tools to strengthen partnerships.

The Design Partner Program is a partner support program focused on building a network between semiconductor design service companies, which provides access to ARM Intellectual Property (IP) and software (SW) development tools, and can use ARM IP to prove success and receive support from professional engineering teams.

ARM has allowed limited access to basic IPs such as Cortex-M0/M3/M4 CPUs, but it has also expanded to 75% of Cortex IPs and development tools that were released in the last two years with the release of Flexible Access Mainstream Package.

"With a business model based on a unique partnership, ARM is closely cooperating with major companies around the world to achieve shared growth," said Hwang Sun-wook, head of ARM Korea. "In particular, we are building a strong partnership with Korea, which is recognized as a global leader in semiconductor technology development." We are pleased to announce an improved partnership program and we expect to strengthen cooperation with our Korean partners," he said.
