"K-Semiconductor Technology at a Glance"...'SEDEX 2021' will open on 27th

"K-반도체 기술 한눈에"…'반도체대전(SEDEX 2021)' 27일 개막

There will be a place where you can see the latest technologies and ecosystems that cover all areas of semiconductor industries at a glance.

The Korea Semiconductor Industry Association announced that it will hold the 23rd Semiconductor Competition (SEDEX 2021) at COEX in Seoul for three days from the 27th. At the semiconductor competition, companies that make up the ecosystem of semiconductor industries such as semiconductor materials, parts, equipment, design, and facilities companies, led by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, will participate. This is the largest scale ever for semiconductor competitions.

Samsung Electronics is going to introduce next-generation semiconductor products focusing on four solutions: artificial intelligence (AI), data center, automatic, and mobile. In addition to 14-nano DDR5 DRAM, which is the industry's most advanced process, Samsung Electronics' next-generation gate surround (GAA) process technology, and others can be seen.

Under the theme of 'Memory Centric Universe', SK Hynix emphasizes the importance of memory semiconductors that are used for major industries such as AI, Big Data 78, Meta Bus, autonomous driving, and next-generation telecommunication networks in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution. It is going to display HBM products, which are ultra-fast DRAMs that are used for AI and supercomputers, and new SSD products for consumers.

Many semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies that are entering global markets will also participate. PSK and Dongjin Semichem are going to display semiconductor photoresist (PR) cleaning equipment and semiconductor electronic materials. Lam Research Korea plans to introduce a new corporate brand to mark its 10th anniversary.

Comico will introduce state-of-the-art cleaning and coating technology, while Mikoceramics will introduce ceramic electrostatic chuck (ESC) and heaters. Shinseong Enge introduces 'Smart Wireless Monitoring System' that manages equipment inside clean rooms wirelessly. WONIK IPS, Exicon, and KC-Tec will introduce semiconductor production department head products suitable for ultra-fine processes and three-dimensional device processes.

In the field of system semiconductors, a large number of companies from System Semiconductor Intellectual Property (IP), Fabless, and Foundry will participate. Co Asia, AD Technology, GAONCHIPS, ASICLAND, and Semi-Five will introduce their semiconductor design support services and turnkey solutions.

There is also a place where leaders of semiconductor industries and experts can listen to their opinions. Lee Jung-bae, president of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (Samsung Electronics), and Tim Archer, CEO of Ram Research, will give keynote lectures on the 26th, a day before the opening of the semiconductor competition. At the 'Semiconductor Market Forecast Conference', which will be held on the 27th, we will examine the impact of recent changes in the international environment surrounding semiconductors on the domestic semiconductor industry. At the 'Semiconductor Industry-Academic Association Exchange Workshop' and 'Semiconductor Display Symposium', which will be held for two days from the 28th to 29th, semiconductor industry, academia, research institutes, and government personnel will gather to discuss the latest issues in all industries such as IC design, semiconductor devices and materials.

'System Semiconductor Design Support Center', Korea's only platform that supports start-ups and growth in the system semiconductor field, will also participate with companies that move into the center and companies that specialize in design assets (IP). The Center will introduce education programs specializing in business start-up support, multi-project wafer (MPW), IP commercialization and utilization, and design.
