The Ministry of Employment and Labor on the 20th selected and announced the '2022 Youth-Friendly Strong Enterprise' reflecting the wishes of young people. Eight hundred each were selected in three areas: wage, work-life balance and job security, and a total of 1,214 except for the number of companies selected for redundancy.

The newly selected youth-friendly small and medium-sized companies in 2022 are superior in terms of wages and new employment compared to ordinary companies.

The median wage of these companies was 3.05 million won and the average wage was 3.23 million won last year, 1.05 million won and 1.06 million won higher than that of ordinary companies, respectively.

In addition, between January and October this year, the average number of newly hired workers was 16.3 per company, of which 69.3% were young people (11.3 per company on average). Compared to ordinary companies, 4.1 new workers and 6.4 more young people were hired, making it a recommended company for young people.

As of October, the percentage of young people working in the workforce was 48 percent, 19 percent higher than 29 percent for general companies, with more young people working.

Specifically, among the youth-friendly small and medium-sized companies in 2022, the average annual salary of "best wage companies" was about 31.88 million won, the average wage increase rate of 17.2 percent (average annual salary of 37.26 million won) after three years, and the bonus and welfare system introduced 2.8 on average.

The "excellent company with good work-life balance" supported 3.6 work-life balance systems, 2.3 welfare spaces and 2.9 self-learning systems on average. On average, 97 percent of companies with excellent job security were regular workers, 56.9 percent of young workers aged between 15 and 34 and 63 percent of youth employment maintenance for three years.

Companies selected as youth-friendly small and medium-sized companies will receive benefits such as customized recruitment support services (hiring centers by Worknet theme), preferential treatment related to financial and tax investigations, and additional points when designating special military service companies. In particular, preferential benefits for leasing public property will be added from youth-friendly small and medium-sized companies in 2022.

The list of selected companies can be checked from the announcement on the Ministry of Employment and Labor's website from July 21.

Details such as wage information for each company, work-life balance support, etc. can be searched on the Worknet from January 1 next year.

"We hope that young people will use excellent corporate information to help them get a job," said Kwon Chang-joon, a youth employment policy officer at the Ministry of Employment and Labor. "We will make sure that youth-friendly small and medium-sized companies can become companies that actually young people want to go to."
