Cheongju University and GAONCHIPS Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with SNS Technology Co., Ltd. 

Expand link between training, and employment of SW convergence specialists tailored to semiconductor demand

Cheongju University (President Cha Chun-soo) announced on the 6th that it has signed an agreement with Gaon Chips Co., Ltd., a design solution company, and S&E Technology Co., Ltd. on job-linked business.

This business agreement was made between Cheongju University and semiconductor convergence design companies to foster experts in convergence of semiconductor SW, and Cheongju University is planning to train and supply experts in convergence of SW that is customized for semiconductor industries.

Under the agreement, Cheongju University and companies will cooperate in supporting and educating students and companies, consulting and supporting semiconductors, developing joint education courses and programs for students and companies, exchanging on-site practice, interning, employment, and start-ups, finding support projects being pursued by the government, local governments, and related agencies, and supporting matching services.

The signing ceremony was attended by Cheongju University President Cha Chun-soo, GAONCHIPS CEO Jung Kyu-dong, and SNS Technology Development Director Gong Kyung-sik.

"Through this agreement, it is expected that it will be effective in activating employment links of SW convergence semiconductor companies and creating an ecosystem for training human resources by organizing practical semiconductor SW convergence courses that can be applied to university students on-site." said Kim Hee-seok, head of SW convergence cluster business.

GAONCHIPS Co., Ltd. is a company that specializes in developing ASIC and SoC, which were established in 2012. It provides total design solutions such as planning, design, production, packaging, testing, quality assurance, and final mass-production supply. GAONCHIPS Co., Ltd. is also establishing partnerships with major domestic semiconductor fabless companies (companies that do not directly produce semiconductors but only design and technology development) by winning the Best Design Partner award at the 1st Samsung Foundry Partners Day in 2019.

SNS Technology Co., Ltd. is a global design house of Samsung Electronics' foundry division, and is a company that develops and provides various projects together, and provides competitive global design services such as building customized living platforms in Southeast Asia by securing and nurturing professionals in each field with various development experiences and its own education system.
