GAONCHIPS has been recognized for its ability to support the best semiconductor design among design partners of ARM, a global semiconductor Intellectual Property (IP) company.
GAONCHIPS announced on the 11th that it has recently been selected as ARM's Best Design Partner 2020. The best design partner is awarded only to one company among 21 ARM design partners in the world with outstanding design support capabilities and service provision capabilities. Through this, GAONCHIPS strengthens cooperation with ARM.
This selection of the best design partner is highly evaluated for GAONCHIPS' ability to support high-performance chip design. GAONCHIPS is an ARM core-based IP that helps fabless companies quickly develop chips. In particular, the development of ARM hardening platforms and design support services are the strengths of GAONCHIPS. By utilizing ARM state-of-the-art IPs through ARM hardening platforms, fabless companies can maximize chip performance. In particular, it is advantageous for chip calculation speed and power control.
GAONCHIPS and ARM's recent efforts are aimed at responding to demands for high-performance chip development such as automotive application professionals (APs). Advanced chips such as automobile APs must meet not only high performance but also various industrial demands such as stability, low power, and expandability. As the amount of data to be processed increases and the processing speed needs to be fast, very high computational capabilities are required.
Previously, GAONCHIPS provided ARM IP that can design high-performance chips to South Korean fabless Telechips and Nextchip. GAONCHIPS is planning to help South Korean fabless businesses quickly utilize ARM IP and optimize chip design.
In addition to supporting design of high-performance chips, GAONCHIPS is also going to expand its foundry and post-process optimization services. It is also planning to strengthen partnerships with Samsung Electronics' foundry and semiconductor packaging and testing companies and provide design support services that can shorten schedules for semiconductor development and reduce costs. GAONCHIPS is a partner of Samsung Electronics' foundry design house called 'Design Solution Partner (DSP).
